In Arc Raiders, “The Root of the Matter” is a quest given by Celeste in Speranza. This mission sends you into the Buried City to retrieve an Experimental Seed Sample. The location is cryptically described as the "room with a great view," which makes the quest slightly tricky if you don’t know where to look.
Quest Objectives
Locate the Research Building
Head to central Buried City. The building you need is located just to the right of Marano Park. From the outside, it looks like a standard multi-floor structure, but the mission’s key area is inside.
Find the "Room with a Great View"
Enter the Research Building on the ground floor. The south side or the windows facing Town Hall are usually the easiest access points.
Navigate to the west or southwest section of the building. You are looking for a room with massive windows overlooking Marano Park. This is where the Experimental Seed Sample is located.

Secure the Seeds
Inside this room, look for the Seed Vault—a bright yellow cylindrical container against the wall. Interact with it to drop the Experimental Seed Sample on the floor, then pick it up.
Return to Speranza
Deliver the sample to Celeste in Speranza to complete the quest. Once you turn it in, you’ll receive your rewards and progress in the storyline.
